Made in Space has worked closely with Sci-Arc and its administrators to establish the identity including logotype, stationery, print and book design, website & flash animation, exhibitions and signage over a 25-year period.

The most recently designed logo was created to behave 'spatially.' Each piece of media was composed slightly differently in how it 'sited' the typography and format as 'objects in space' and often, metaphorically, in 'plan view.' For print media the 'dash' between 'SCI' and 'Arc' was positioned above the two words, while in electronic format, the dash was positioned below, an obvious reference to an 'underscore' symbol, commonly used in website formatting of addresses. Finally the 'dot' over the 'i' changes sizes and is an object of and in of itself.
